Technology

The usage of composite materials for constructions is increasing due to the high potential of mass reduction. However those composite parts have often large or complex dimensions and therefore sophisticated tooling is necessary. Regardless of the applied production technology those tools have to be heated up i.e. to cure the matrix.

We offer a solution for a homogeneous heating up of the tooling surface without ovens or autoclaves. The integration of an embroidered carbon fibre roving in composite tooling allows us to accelerate the heating process. Due to an ohmic resistance of the carbon fibre and an applied electrical potential the composite tool will be heated up. Temperature up to 180°C or 360°F are possible and enables a wide range of applications.

The heating output per area as well as the geometry can be customized.
